Pinterest makes Top 50 list

Pin It Now!
Although it's still considered to be a relatively young site, Pinterest seems to be gaining users at a rapid pace. Pinterest is a site that users can store, like, and share photos (much like a pinboard) with other users all over the world. The idea behind Pinterest is to bring people together based on shared interests. This week, Pinterest landed a Top 50 spot on comScore's most visited sites of September.

Pinterest attracted approximately 25.3 million visitors for the month alone and continued its surge in the social media sphere. To get an idea of how the traffic has been so monumental for the visual pinboarding website is two reasons: the simplicity and an existing arena of social networking companies in the U.S market.  Because technology allows us to access this at the tap of a screen, it is also important to make sure that the information is presented in a clear and concise manner. Social Media has mastered delivering information in a very minimal way, for example, twitter. Users can find up to date information from across the globe in 140 characters or less. And with Facebook, you don't even have to comment on things anymore, you can simply click a 'like' button.

With social media continuing to advance, it will be interesting to see how companies choose to market/advertise their products in the future. Which social media sites do you use the most? And which do you consider the most useful for promoting a product?
